Ghana’s Electoral Commission has released the official timetable for the country’s next presidential and parliamentary elections, with voting day set for the first Tuesday of December.
Chairperson Jean Mensa announced that voter registration will run for six weeks beginning in August, with a targeted addition of 2.5 million new voters.
Five major political parties have already indicated their intention to field presidential candidates, with the governing NPP and opposition NDC expected to mount the strongest campaigns.
