Nigerian payment processing company Paystack has announced that it processed over N1 trillion in transactions in a single calendar month for the first time in its history.
The figure represents a 340 percent increase from the same month three years ago, driven by the rapid shift of Nigerian consumers and businesses to digital payments.
Paystack processes payments for over 200,000 Nigerian businesses ranging from solo entrepreneurs to multinational corporations.
The company announced it would use the milestone to advocate for further regulatory improvements to digital payments infrastructure.
