The Lagos State Government has officially opened the Yaba Innovation District Phase Two, a 25,000 square metre technology campus representing the largest purpose-built technology hub in Africa.
The facility houses co-working spaces for 3,000 startups and freelancers, a 200-seat event centre, prototyping labs and a dedicated artificial intelligence research centre.
Governor Sanwo-Olu said the investment reflected Lagos’s ambition to be among the top five global technology cities by 2030.
Over 400 startups applied for the first cohort of resident companies, with 85 selected based on innovation potential and job creation prospects.
